Mobilus Partners with Hailo to Mass-Produce Autonomous Driving Controllers for Next-Generation
Mobilus Inc. (CEO, ByongHo Cho), a company specializing in autonomous mobility solutions, announced on the 7th May that it has completed the development of an "autonomous driving controller for tractors" in collaboration with Hailo—an Israeli company gaining global attention in the edge NPU (Neural Processing Unit) sector. The company is now making a full-scale move to target the autonomous agricultural machinery market.
This project is a commercialization success story that combines Mobilus’s autonomous driving algorithm technology with Hailo’s high-efficiency AI processor technology. The autonomous driving controller developed by Mobilus analyzes complex external environmental data in real-time to precisely control a vehicle's steering and speed. It serves as a core system for generating cultivation paths, managing autonomous driving, and performing emergency stops when objects are detected along the work route.
The company stated that the project holds significant technical meaning, particularly for successfully integrating Hailo's low-power NPU—which has shown excellence in intelligent CCTV, video surveillance, and Edge AI applications—into an autonomous driving control system. This integration allows for high-level deep learning computations with lower power consumption compared to existing hardware, thereby enhancing the performance of agricultural machinery and special-purpose autonomous vehicles where power efficiency is critical.
The management of Mobilus and Hailo Korea has been in close discussions since last February, leading to the success of this project. Notably, Hailo plans to select this case by Mobilus as one of its major success stories and share it across its global network.
